I was so excited to find a Vietnamese place in the area - there aren't many! They have a pretty extensive menu - I usually get the classic pho at any viet place as a benchmark. Their classic pho was $17 and had the eye of round/lean meat, the fatty beef, and beef balls. Sadly it didnt have any tripe or tendon. I will look again next time because I love those! We also got the pork spring rolls, 4 pieces for $8.50 - def recommend, love these hot with the fish sauce. My friend recommended the egg pancake which is HUGE and packed with goodness! The egg is a big crispy serving with seafood (squid, shrimp, crab) stuffed inside. The service was very quick - we had to flag them down to order despite it not being too busy but the food arrived so fast! The space itself is very relaxed - really great for a weekday lunch!

Absolutely delicious pho. Wonderful staff. We love their Three Grilled Beef Pho (Grilled Lemongrass Beef, Sesame Beef and Betel Leaf Beef) Every type of beef has such a unique and amazing flavor profile and is so expertly constructed. We like to get extra beef and chicken broth. Both always hit the spot. This is quickly becoming our favorite Pho spot.

The bun bo hue broth is I have had bun bo hue across the country in various destinations. I have traveled far and wide in search of great bun bo hue. And this one, I approve. $20 for a bowl after tip and tax. Not crowded on a Sunday for lunch. Good for groups no larger than 6.

Based on one visit noting my daughter ate here many times and love this place. We ordered grilles chicken with rice, Bahn Mi Brisket sandwich, Pho, a Mango Smoothie and Vietnamese coffee. The weakest in the group was the Pho but it was still good. Everything else was top notch, really good. The environment is very cool, a little beatnik and gritty. But nice. Service was friendly. 4.6 rounded to 5. Absolutely worth a try.

I have to confess that I've never sat down to eat at Hello Saigon, so I can't comment on the dine-in atmosphere. However, I have ordered for take out and delivery from here more times than I care to admit over the past couple of years. I've tried a few dishes and always enjoyed them, but invariably end up going back to the regular ol' pork roll banh mi. It is so simple, so delicious, and so reminiscent of the ones I could not get enough of when I visited Vietnam. Unlike half of the banh mi you get in NYC, the ones here actually have pate on them, which is a make or break kind of thing for me. Also, without naming names, I will venture to say that I like the food from Hello Saigon much better than the food from a certain more hip and always-crowded Vietnamese restaurant just down the street...

No frills, lowkey Vietnamese spot. Great place to grab a warm bowl of Pho, which is what I always order here. It's not unique or fancy, but tastes right and hits the spot on a chilly day. Staff is friendly and attentive, and there's plenty of seating inside.

Ambiance (4/5): The restaurant is bare bones but there is a cool graffiti mural art near the entrance. The place is open and not loud! We stumbled on 1pm Sunday and there was plenty of seating. Be aware that there are steep stairs to access the bathroom. Service (5/5): Since the place is smaller, there was plenty of staff around to assist with serving all the tables. Food came out fairly quickly! Food: Vietnamese Coffee (4/5): There is a strong espresso taste in this and the milk was Hue-style spicy beef and pork noodle (#9 Bun bo Hue) (4/5) - I ordered the which is more fish-flavor forward due to the shrimp paste. There was a variety of different cuts of meat in the large bowl and a great portion of it too! My sister enjoyed her #2 Beef Brisket Pho and tasted like your classic pho and noodles. I liked hers slightly more!

3.5/5 Authentic Viet restaurants are few and far between, and Hello Saigon is definitely one of those restaurants. As someone who's Vietnamese, I judge a Vietnamese restaurant mostly by the quality of its pho. I order a bowl of their house special pho whenever I crave a taste of home. The broth is rich, flavorful, and has good depth. You can tell they use a mix of aromatics in making their broth. Although they could put more meat in their soups, I don't mind it since I try not to eat too much meat in each meal. As to their other menu items, I think some things are a hit or miss. One time, I tried their canh chua (sweet and sour soup) with ca kho to (braised stone pot fish), which is a classic Viet combination. Both items were weirdly overly sweet, and the fish was a bit overdone. Their summer rolls, spring rolls, and banh mi are pretty standard. But their calamari is surprisingly SO good! They're fried with sweet fish sauce and I cannot stop eating them when they're in front of me. Overall, this is a pretty authentic establishment. Their pho is great, but their other menu items really vary.
